I've lived about ten minutes from Lanhydrock House my whole life yet it's taken me until now to finally visit. I've always wanted to have a good wander but I wanted to wait until the right time and today, was the right time! So my Mum and I headed out and we were greeted by the beautiful sunshine to really assist the beautiful setting. Lanhydrock is really easy to find and as we drove in we were met by some super friendly staff who showed us where to park as it was pretty busy. A short stroll later and we were entering the grounds. There were an abundance of families sitting down under a tree in the shade with a picnic, I definitely took a mental note to copy and do the same at some point!
The gardens at the house are incredibly kept and I was blown away by how beautiful everything looked. There's so much space to enjoy, the large gardens, the house itself and not to mention to extensive acreage to venture around and the little cottages hidden amongst.
The house itself was laid out so well with everything so intricate and perfect. We had a good look around the rooms however it was very hot and stuffy inside so soon snuck back into the gardens to ponder some more.
I would highly advise visiting and trying to choose a nice sunny day. Definitely pack a picnic, the cafe they have is lovely however sitting in the garden with a picnic looked incredible, i was so jealous of everyone doing it. Wear comfy shoes so you can explore everything they have to offer and ensure that you do, we came back to the car park and checked the map to find we'd missed alot yet still felt like we'd seen so much!
