Other than traveling, make up and fashion, what else do I love? Food! Well, obviously let's write a post about some great food then. For today, I wanted to run through five of my favourite lunch haunts in North Cornwall. These are five of many, as there are some wonderful food places in Cornwall, but these are some places I go to regularly and would always recommend.
Ah Strong Adolfos, my favourite place on Earth. But really, I adore this place. Again, relatively new to our local area and its location is perfect, on the Atlantic Highway away from any hustle and bustle of the main towns. Strong Adolfos has a very cool urban and industrial vibe with great local food and again, amazing baked goods! The cafe has alot of inside seating, including sofas and also plenty of outside seating to enjoy the countryside views. Strong Adolfos has a regular menu of sandwiches, paninis, jackets etc but also has the best special board which is what I always try to order off. The below was a special which is a halloumi, pepper and chorizo salad - it was incredible. Again, a perfect place to just chill and have a coffee also. A must go!
Here we have the utterly gorgeous Duchy of Cornwall Nursery Cafe. This place is beautiful and as the name suggests, it comes in tow with a garden centre and farm store. The cafe itself is so rural chic and serves delicious seasonal and fresh foods. The menu is never extensive as they change each season to cater for the freshest of ingrediants. Some favourites of mine have been pulled pork, bacon sandwhiches and venison burgers. Also a beautiful spot for tea and cake with their freshly baked goods, if you sit outside there's also a lovely view across the valley of Restormal Castle.
Falmouth doesn't technically count as North Cornwall but it does to me, so hey here it is! The Shed is a great place for lunch if you're hungry. In the image below, I opted for the nachos and my god I did not expect it to be so big! But big is good, in food covered in cheese that is. The menu is full of good options and I was tossing up between these nachos and the meatballs last time I visited. The Shed also serves cocktails and other drinks so it's a great place for a casual late lunch or even of an evening.
Another Shed and another amazing spot. They're not a chain and in no way associated with the above but maybe the name is a good omen!? The Shed Cafe and Brunch Bar is a winner from me as I adore brunch food. The Shed is tiny, there are three tables inside and two outside, it's literally the size of a shed, but it is so quaint. Definitly worth heading down and baring in mind you may need to take a stroll until a table is free, trust me it's worth it. I love the pancakes but the menu is full of great full english options, avocado toast and granolas.
Concho Lounge in Newquay is part of a chain and is relatively new to the area. It's a very quirky and cool place with a lovely outside area also. The tables are painted in really cool patterns, the walls are full of old fashioned oil paintings and the menu is bursting with good stuff. The below is a buttermilk fried chicken ciabatta which was to die for and I also indulged in a watermelon iced tea - amaze!
And there we have it, some great places you must try if you're in the area. I always post my lunches on my instagram so make sure you go follow me over there (@jenniemasters) and i'll also try and keep these posts as a regular feature as new food places are always appearing and who doesn't love trying something new.
